Was it the same weather?
Compare the conditions. A first leak in wind-driven rain and a second after prolonged steady rain may not be the same route.
Mark the stain
Old plaster can remain damp for a while. Photograph the edge and watch whether it expands during new rain.
Find out exactly what was done
Ask which slate, joint or flashing was repaired. Without that information, a return visit can turn into guesswork.
Widen the inspection
Once the repaired area is confirmed sound, look uphill and sideways for another defect. Chimneys, valleys and wall junctions often create overlapping symptoms.
If you are ready to get the roof inspected
Give the contractor the symptom rather than your diagnosis. The weather pattern and a few safe photographs can be useful.
